Good Evening everyone!
It´s David, Keyboarder from Subsignal.
We´re back in the studio (me for the first time, since I recorded at home)
and listening through the stuff with Kohle. Three songs are more or less done by now, "Where Angels Fear To Tread",
"Walking With Ghost" and "The Sea". Man this record will rock, has epic, dark and beautiful moments.
Today also Gregor, the A&R from our record company Goldencore/ZYX Records stopped by to have a listen
to some finshed songs. And it seems he was really blown away! But that is no surprise with the awesome sound
that Kohle created.
Now in the evening Arno (who forgot his liquid birthday present) and Mike left for home. So Ralf, Markus have to
spend the night with uncle Jack who is visiting from Tennessee.
Now we´re really proud of and happy with the result and looking forward to the upcoming show at the Night Of The Prog
and the release in September.
Take care everyone and stay tuned!

Studio Report Day 16
And a good day to you all...
Well after some turbulence yesterday, Kohle not feeling really well...we made it back to
the mixingconsole and started our 3rd day of recording vocals.
Today was the day of "the heavyweights"....vocalwise that is...
2 more difficult songs..."Beautiful & Monstrous" and "the Sea".
Difficult doesn't mean impossible per sé...so...again..we nailed them :)
That means, tomorrow 2 more songs and it's time for mixing down.
Football is over by now, so I guess tonight it's just me, Mulder,Scully and some obscure substance, they call "beer" again!
To all of you again a good night ..."don't let the bugger bite"!

Studio Report Day 15
And we're back....
Today was yet another succesful one.
We recorded "Rain is the most beautiful color", "The last light of summer" and
"To hope the road is long".
All went very well.....
Henri...well spotted...it was a quotation from Hillstreet Blues ;)
So next..another feierabend for me, with fine food, wine and the chocolaty minty thingies.
If we'll keep up this speed...I'll be done in two days :)
So to all of you A good night and remember...."the truth is out there"

Studio Diary Day 14
Hi everyone,
Today's my first, not first, day at Kohlekeller Studio's,
to add the cherry to the pie, or better,.... the onion to the burger! :)
We started kinda late...cause I was there kinda late...still cleaning up the mess
from my surprise birthdayparty last Saturday..
But when it finally came to recording everything went amazingly fast.
We nailed " Where angels fear to tread", " The trick is to keep breathing" and
"Walking with ghosts".
All went very smooth and was very satisfying.
And now, after a long walk through the hills of Ober Beerbach,
I will sit myself down with a nice cold one and some X files on the tv and call it a day.
Tomorrow I will be back with the latest updates.
So for now, take care, and hey!......"let's be careful out there"!

Studio diary Day 13
Hi there again,
Finished! We´re done with the Bass recordings! Everything went really smooth and relaxed! Today we started with 'To hope the road is long' followed by 'The trick is to keep breathing' after which we took a long lunch-break -No need to hurry today ;)
The afternoon started with 'Paradigm' and ended with 'The Sea'. Well, actually not really, we still had the time to record some additional bassline for 'Beautiful & Monstrous' suggested by Arno, who dropped by yesterday evening.
So that´s it for me! On Monday Arno is going to take over again and start with the lead vocals! Have fun Bro, I know this is going to be amazing!
Now I´m going to sit down with one of the fine 'Tannenzäpfle' Kohle supplied me with and I´m going to spend a relaxed evening. Tomorrow morning I´ll be on my way back home.
As I already said yesterday, it was a pleasure working with Kohle! The album is going to sound simply awesome! I can hardly wait to hear the whole thing with vocals!!!
Now I´ll just call it a day! Take care everybody,
Ralf

Studio Diary Day 12
Hi Everybody,
Ralf here, the Bassplayer of Subsignal. Today we finally started recording the Bass! I already arrived at Kohlekeller Studio yesterday evening, had a 'Tannezäpfle' with Kohle and went to sleep kinda early after some movie on TV so I got up well-rested this morning, had some breakfast and was ready to go...
The recordings went really well today -we started with 'Beautiful & Monstrous', followed by 'Rain is the most beautiful color' (which is supposed be a bonus track). After having lunch we did 'Where Angels fear to tread', 'Walking with Ghosts' and 'I go with the wind'. There´s no Bass on 'Last light of summer' so 6 out of 10 tracks are finished from my side by now. I´m really happy with today´s recordings, and got to say it´s a real pleasure working with Kohle! Everything sounds awesome already!!! Can hardly wait for tomorrow to continue!
That´s it for today folks! Have a cool evening... More tomorrow...
Cheers, Ralf

Studio diary Day 11
Finished! I am through with the guitars. Today we did all the solos and some additional acoustic guitars for 'I go with the wind', 'Beautiful & Monstrous' and 'Walking With Ghosts'. Never in my musical career have I been that satisfied with my personal performance like on this album. Compared to the Sieges Even outputs, there is a whole armada of guitar solos on 'B&M'. I pretty much enjoyed it. Now I hand the torch over to Ralf who will, after a three day break for Kristian, start with his bass arrangements on next Thursday.
Man, I am so proud of this album, this band, and all other contributing persons who made it possible. Ok, I gotta catch my train back home to Vienna.
take care, Markus
